An important indicator of success for a Company is whether it survives 5 years. In the USA only 35% do. According to the Nobel laureate Daniel Kahneman, Entrepreneurs get involved into their business plans, they think their great plan is an exception. Unfortunately, this is builder bias. 35% is a global statistic, meaning regardless of quality and sector, your startup has 2 chances in 3 to fail. Accept and live with it.

I present my distilled view of some important applications of ML, and explain the full procedure from ML to AI, when it makes sense to invest in it. I am grateful for my direct experience, business and social engagement with Companies, Projects, and key people that have contributed to my vision. Machine Learning is a vast and prolific topic where people and Companies do make mistakes. ML is not a magic crystal ball. Machines can be more accurate at recognizing patterns than humans, but not supernatural intelligence that magically extracts information where it doesn’t exist. We should always challenge and interpret results.

AWS is my favourite Cloud platform

In 2018 my team was developing an IoT platform and needed to pick a Cloud vendor. We considered GCP, AWS, Azure, Eurotech, and more. At that time, AWS was the clear winner, mostly because of cost. Other differentiators included technology, the level of granularity of various AWS services, and optimizations. There is a broader key strategy to consider.
